Lives change drastically when a loved one is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or related dementia.  Coping with new obstacles that must be faced is a challenge not only for the person directly affected, but also for families and other caregivers.  Support groups can provide a valuable resource to renew hope and turn problems into solutions.  Support groups are offered at no cost and you can attend when you are able.

Savvy Caregiver Class - The Savvy Caregiver Class is a proven curriculum developed for family caregivers and grounded in research that teaches strategies, practical real-world skills, and helps to reduce stress, both in the caregiver and the person for whom care is being provided.

 Describe, Investigate, Create, Evaluate (DICE)

DICE is a complementary program to help caregivers manage behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia. Sessions will include activities to give caregivers a better understanding of the causes and how to apply the DICE approach when behaviors occur.  Individual and classes offered.  Contact the ADRC to learn more.
