SCHEDULING A VISIT WITH AN INMATE

INMATE VISITATION

Non-contact video visitation will be held at the Eau Claire County Jail located at 710 2nd Avenue, Eau Claire, WI 54703. All visits are monitored.

Visiting hours are at the following times:

Monday - Friday Jail Public Visitation 1

  • 9:00 am - 11:25 am
  • 2:00 pm - 4:25 pm

Wednesday & Sunday evening

  • 6:30 pm - 9:25 pm

We ask visitors to arrive 10 minutes before the start of their scheduled visitation. A valid government- issued photo ID is required.

Inmates are allowed three, 20-minute visits per week. Visitors are allowed to visit 3 times a week. Visitors can schedule back-to-back visits with the same inmate.

Each inmate is permitted to have up to four visitors at one time, with two adults per visit. Minors (individuals under the age of 18) must be accompanied by their legal parent or guardian and be registered for the visit.

VISITOR RULES AND REGULATIONS

Articles of clothing for inmates must be dropped off during business hours (8am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday) with the office associate. Medications and other medically necessary items will be the only items accepted 24 hours a day. Money for inmates can be dropped off 24 hours a day in the kiosk in the jail lobby vestibule.

Visitors are expected to be courteous to other visitors. Loud talking, excessive emotionalism, or any other type of disruptive behavior will not be permitted in the visitation center. Failure to comply will result in termination of the session and may result in suspension of future visits.

Children must be supervised at all times. If your child is disruptive (i.e. crying, screaming, running, etc.) you will be asked to control the child or leave. Children are not allowed to run or play within the visitation or lobby area. Diaper changing in the visitation or lobby area is prohibited. Any damage you cause to the equipment or facility will not be tolerated and criminal charges and restitution will be placed against you.

APPAREL:  Proper attire, including shoes and shirts, is required at all times. Suggestive clothing, see-through fabrics, and halter or tube type tops will not be permitted. Visitation staff will determine if clothing is unsuitable.

CELL PHONES ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE EAU CLAIRE COUNTY JAIL. Visitors caught with a cell phone will be asked to leave and may have future visits suspended.

No purses, bags, or backpacks are allowed in the visiting room at any time.

NO cameras (including cell phone cameras), video, or audio recording devices are allowed in the visiting room at any time.

No food or drink may be brought into the visitation area.

Intoxicated individuals or people who appear to be under the influence WILL NOT be allowed to visit.

Belongings such as coats, hats, packages, purses, tobacco products, cell phones, etc., must be placed in lockers before entering the jail visitation room.  Insert a quarter into the locker to receive a key. After your visit, insert the key to unlock and your quarter will be refunded.

1st offense- 1 month restriction
2nd offense- 2 month restriction
3rd offense- 4 month restriction
                                     Flashing:
1st offense- 1 month restriction
2nd offense- 2 month restriction
3rd offense- 4 month restriction 

 

Disruptive behavior or disrespect/lying to staff:
1st offense- 2 week restriction
2nd offense- 1 month restriction
3rd offense- 2 month restriction 
          Food or drink in visiting room:
1st offense- 1 week restriction
2nd offense- 2 week restriction
3rd offense- 1 month restriction

 

 Using another inmate to get extra visits:
1st offense- 3 week restriction                                     
2nd offense- 6 week restriction
3rd offense- 3 month restriction
 
**A VISITOR'S 3RD OFFENSE WILL RESULT IN AN AUTOMATIC 6-MONTH VISIT RESTRICTION**

Professional and Clergy Visits

Visits with clergy members will be allowed at reasonable hours and for a reasonable
length of time. A referral from the jail chaplain is required. Visits are subject to
approval from the jail administration.

Professional visitors will be allowed during the following hours:

Monday - Friday: 7:30 am - 11:00 am
1:00pm - 4:15pm
6:00pm - 9:00pm
Saturday/Sunday: 7:30am - 11:00am
6:00pm - 9:00pm

Professional visits are not monitored but may be subject to visual observation.

Special Visits

A special visit may be granted to the inmate under certain circumstances. It is the responsibility of the inmate to request this visit and it is subject to approval from the jail sergeant.
