Detectives

The Field Services Detective Division consists of four detectives, one digital forensics detective, two WCDTF detectives and a detective sergeant.

Detectives coordinate the on-scene investigations of major incidents. They investigate crimes that require an extended time commitment, expertise, or sensitivity. Detectives also conduct follow up on crimes initiated through patrol reports. Serious crimes such as homicide, robbery, sexual assault, fraud, and burglary may require special expertise and more lengthy investigation than uniformed patrol deputies can provide.

Detectives conduct interviews of victims, suspects, and witnesses, prepare and execute search and/or arrest warrants, conduct surveillance, gather evidence, process crime scenes, and testify in court.

The digital forensics detective works to forensically locate and preserve computer, cell phone, and other digital evidence for prosecution of a wide range of crimes committed in the Chippewa Valley.
