Pasture Pump

Pasture Pumps in Eau Claire County

Fencing livestock out of our water resources is an important step to ensuring we have clean surface water.  However, watering cattle in remote areas can be a challenge without running water or electricity nearby.  A livestock nose pump may solve these problems by allowing cattle to drink from a nearby water source, in remote locations, without entering the water source.

With help from Eau Claire County’s Innovation Fund, the Land Conservation Division has purchased a livestock nose pump and temporary fencing supplies.   Farmers may borrow these supplies from us to try out on their farm.  If they like the pasture pump, they may purchase the already installed supplies from our department.

The following information handout has more information about Eau Claire County’s Pasture Pump Project.
