Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP)

The Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP) is a voluntary program targeted towards private landowners to place land that has a history of being cropped or pastured into permanent vegetative cover.   The land also needs to be within 150 feet of a ditch, stream, lake or wetland and located in an area eligible for the program. (See map below)  In return for taking the land out of production the landowner is compensated with a per acre soil rental rate.

Landowners interested in the CREP will need to contact the Eau Claire County Farm Service Agency (FSA) at 715-832-6547 to begin the enrollment process.  Landowners interested in the program are welcome to contact the Land Conservation Division (LCD) at 715-839-6226 for more information about the program.
