The Land Conservation Division (LCD) provides engineering technical assistance to landowners and other government entities to address resource concerns. Projects range from addressing barnyard issues to stabilizing eroding stream banks and well abandonment's. If you are experiencing erosion issues feel free to contact the LCD for assistance.
Well Abandonment:
In an effort to help protect groundwater, Eau Claire County has a Cost Share Program for county residents who are closing old wells. Half the cost up to $400 can be reimbursed for properly abandoning a well, contingent upon available funding.
How can you take part?
After you have had your well properly abandoned, fill out and send the items below to:

3) Receipts for materials & labor
Gully renovated with engineering assistance provided by LCD staff. A diversion and rock lined waterway were utilized to restore the gully.
