Extreme Heat

Eau Claire County is susceptible to both extreme cold and extreme heat. With both, there are health risks and precautions that need to be taken.

Extreme Heat

In the Summer months, hot air temperatures combined with a high relative humidity and high dew point can lead to very dangerous heat indices. Long exposure to extreme heat can result in heat stroke. During these days, limit time outdoors and drink plenty of fluids.
