Placements

Before a youth is accepted at the Northwest Regional Juvenile Detention Center, several things need to happen. Please review the Juvenile Information Sheet and the Rights and Privileges information.

Confirm Availability

  • Bed space is generally not reserved, it is best to call for availability when the youth is in custody. If, however, verbal authorization is granted and the youth is in custody, the bed will be held until the youth arrives, or we are notified otherwise.

Completion of the Admission Information Checklist

  • The Admission Information Checklist helps us to ascertain basic information about the youth. After a youth has been accepted, a staff member will go through the form with you.
  • If the youth is injured, mentally or chemically impaired, or is otherwise not in good health, written medical clearance must be obtained prior to arrival at the facility. Without it, entrance will be denied.

Placement Documentation

  • Placement documentation must be received prior to, or with the arrival of the youth. If extenuating circumstances prevent timely submission of the documentation, it must be received no later than the next business day.

Medical Consent Form

  • The Medical Consent Form allows medical treatment of the youth in emergency circumstances when the parent/guardian cannot be reached. Medical consent forms should be sent within 2 days of placement and if appropriate, medical assistance numbers and copy of the MA card should also be sent.
