About: 

Supervisor Heather DeLuka currently is the chair of the Extension Education Committee, where she brings valuable continuity as the only returning supervisor from the previous term. With a background as a retired K-12 public school teacher specializing in physical education and health, Heather is passionate about the educational programs offered to both youths and adults.

Heather has been a leader in her community for over two decades, serving as president of the Airport Neighborhood Association for 22 years and as the current secretary of the Eau Claire Neighborhood Association (ECNA), a coalition of all neighborhood associations in the City of Eau Claire. Her environmental stewardship is evident through her work with Friends of Beaver Creek Reserve, where she has taught summer camps and assisted with events like Earth Day, Butterfly Fest, and the French Toast Breakfast. She also serves as the secretary for the FBCR Board meetings.

On the Land Conservation Commission (LCC), Heather is the LCC representative on the Land Stewardship Committee, which has successfully worked to accept a land donation protecting the Chippewa River and is developing the Red Flint Recreation area. She played a key role in presenting the 10-year Land and Water Resource Plan to the DATCP Board in Madison.

In her initial term on the Aging & Disability Resource Center (ADRC), Heather volunteered on the Nutrition Advisory Council and expressed interest in continuing her work with the ADRC, including considering becoming a Meals on Wheels delivery person. She also served on the Groundwater Advisory Committee, where she focused on addressing the PFAS issue that led to the closure of all water wells in her District 24 due to high contamination levels.

Supervisor DeLuka has served on the Eau Claire County Board of Supervisors since 2016.
